"You're okay to walk?" I asked Goro as I helped him on his way to Yukari's office.
"If Seija's good then so am I. Leaving that girl of mine on her own to talk to the Yakumo is a recipe for trouble." Goro smiled.
"You're too good for her." I sighed.
I nodded to a couple workers who were staring in our direction, a gentle 'stop gawking and get back to work' message.
"How's business? You holding up?" Goro asked.
"Tough. There's some specter in the HSE that Isn't a Youkai or Spirit and none of the mediums have an answer."
At this Goro winced, but didn't say anything. Strange.
"And Anon is asking me to check on his daughter, Hana, you're familiar right? I've been procrastinating on it since she was vitriolic last we met, which I understand, but I don't know what to say to her. Ah, sorry to dump all this on you." I explain.
"No, no, I gladly play the confidant so long as I get re-payed for the effort later." He smiled. "With Hana, well, she's a teenage girl and for Humans that's a tenuous period. I think you'll have an easier time with that girl so long as you let her speak her mind and act earnestly. Just uh, wear something modest."
"Oh, like to appear less threatening? Got it."
"Yeah, exactly." he said, nodding awkwardly.
"You're sure your okay? You're acting strange."
But Goro simply waved, intent on making sure Seija didn't make a mess of Yukari's office or the other way around, which I was glad for, but the man still worried me regardless. I worried a lot about others these days.
When we opened the office we weren't greeted by some shouting match or the aftermath of some localized calamity, no, we saw something far stranger.
Seija cornered, whimpering, and half-naked in a corner of the room while Ran loomed over her, holding an outfit with sigils and signs much like the one's on Yukari, Chen, and her own, while Yukari looked on, bemused.
"I'm not wearing that no matter how many times you ask me!" Seija rebelled.
"Go ahead Ran, no need to hesitate with a little kitty who's already irate!" Yukari encouraged
"I really am sorry about this." Ran said aloud, before dive-bombing Seija with all of her tails and wrapping and shoving the poor girl into the garb. When the tornado of fluff finally lifted, Seija was revealed, wearing an outfit with a short, poofy skirt and short sleeves like her usual garb, but with the addition of same sort of apron garment that Ran and Yukari wore that terminated at the end of her skirt into four tassels.
"Oh, it appears Goro's awake as well! Time to complete the set Ran!" Yukari announced, pointing at Goro.
Ran muttered another apology, charged Goro, wrapped him in the same tornado of fluff from which his sleeping robe was ejected, and sent him twirling into Seija arms. He wore the same Buddhist like robes he had adopted earlier, but a new sash had been provided with similar Yakumo sigils.
"Wonderful, ah take a picture Ran please! I want to commemorate this moment!"
Weird and Yukari were synonymous on the best of days, but this seemed... overly dramatic on her part? I didn't think she held Seija and Goro in particularly high regard before she sent them to Hell and my mind struggled to imagine what would cause her to become this enthused that they could do down there. I guess they did flip the Sanzu, but that little incident was resolved pretty quickly and didn't really benefit us.
Oh, I must remember to warn Goro about Reimu paying them a visit. I know my first time with her wasn't all that pleasant...
"Yukari-Sama, this is a little much." Goro commented.
"Not at all little Goro! Not even in my wildest dreams did I think you two would come back in one piece! I sent you to Hell and told them you were coming after all!" Yukari happily said, clapping her hand for emphasis.
Seija opened her mouth, presumably to swear a river at the older Youkai, but stopped herself. "I'm so happy your judgement of us was entirely ill-founded." She said.
"Yes! Because of you two I was able to acquire so much precious data it's unreal! So I figured: 'why should my loyal servants wear commoner's garbs?' and had Ran whip these up for you two. Now, normally I'd expect someone to serve at least a hundred or so years before they're worthy of such an honor so make sure you work extra hard to show you've earned that privilege! Otherwise Ran and Chen will get Jealous!" Yukari gushed, turning to the fox, whom didn't seem to care about this whole affair in the slightest.
"And in regards to your other 'reward', don't worry, you don't need to tell me anything. I'm sure I already know everything that woman could have possibly informed you about so it's no matter really. Rather, I need you to immediately handle your next assignment." She says, handing them a letter.
"Deliver this Cease & Desist to the Moriya Temple. They've been conspiring against me for a little too long now and I tire of it. Now off you go you two! Daylights burning! Ah, Takane? Come in come in! We need to talk about expense reports"

Writefags are only going to writing fluff from now on. There will be no more plot development.
