All of Higurashi is a massive setup for a witch's game hosted by the Sorcerer of Words Keiichi where hate is replaced with love, violence is replaced with sex, and death is replaced by life. Once he truly "dies", his magic will trigger and the entire Higurashi timeline will repeat in reverse with these changes. That's where all of the extended 07th Expansion cast came from. Hinamizawa is necessary for all of the 07th Expansion stories to take place, and when a member of the cast of one of those stories dies, they need to be reborn. Ciconia Phase 2 was delayed for so long not because of COVID, but because Miyao, Lingji, and others needed to be made once again. THAT's what Gou, Sotsu, Meguri, Rei, Oni, etc. are for and why Umineko/Ciconia characters are starting to show up in Higurashi. There are no incels or worries of cheating in Hinamizawa because ALL sex scenes are censored by the cicadas.
