There's not a single reason for this phenomenon, but rather a shitload of factors. I'll list some:

- Welfare states have made it economically less of a necessity to form families, both for men and for women
- Easy availability of porn makes actual sex both less satisfying and less urgent to get
- Men have been "educated" to be, frankly, pussies
- Women have been "educated" to be less pleasant, and thus less desirable
- Terrible economy makes it hard for men to land good jobs, from which to gain wealth, with which to impress women
- Feminist reforms have done the same as above
- Socially acceptable dating opportunities are fewer
- Surely we have been cursed by a cruel and vengeful god of some sort
- Etc.

The point is that a large variety of factors that reinforce each other have made it both less desirable and less convenient to form couples. There is no one things behind all this.
