There aren't very many eroge that are better that have semi-decent translations. That should hopefully be changing before long.

The two main things I need to consider something to be well written is that it needs to keep me captivated even during parts that I would normally hate, and that it isn't overly verbose when it doesn't need to be. The second thing is mainly because I just have some difficulty reading some things, but I have a feeling that I will eventually care less about that.
Also, cleverly integrated references to things I've read or watched in the past are always a plus when they aren't completely distracting.
