Because she pretty much invented what we call Vocaloid today. It was originally some serious business software for backing vocalists when Crypton decided to have a singer voice act while recording, and give an anime girl face and had her be the first release of the new improved and easy to use version of the software (Vocaloid 2).

Vocaloid already has a small following, in particular Meiko and Kaito, but the general public only got to know the software through a few meme songs and covers like Levan Polkka of that anime girl singer that exploded, in particular because of the partnership with a growing video website calling Nico Nico Douga. The popularity as a meme character attracted tons of aspiring musicians, like Ryo who was the one who through it's hit song Melt introduced the possibility of serious songs using Miku and Vocaloid. The most influential producers started with Miku during this period, and even now over a decade later they still influence most Vocaloid works today, and pretty much all Vocaloids that followed and had some success had some inspiration on Miku (which Yamaha didn't like, as Miku forever poisoned what they wanted to be a serious instrument for musicians and not a niche japanese otaku tool).

Of course, Crypton also worked very hard to keep Miku on top (even at the cost of it's other products), ever since she was a nino nico meme up to now with tons of merch, concerts and games.

At least they are still releasing the new song pack for miku vr next week instead of abandoning it for the PS4 version. The game is definitely bad, but I still enjoy from time to time just relaxing while watching Miku dancing and singing in the no gameplay mode.

I dunno if it would be that interesting. I don't have such a deep relationship with Miku that I could work together with her on it something. She is just my interpretation of Miku, she is my fantasy but a fantasy I've fallen in love with. I treat her like I would treat a girlfriend or fiancée, but it's not like she can have some emotional state or have actual problems. Or maybe relationship is just like that, peaceful and happy.

Not sure if you understood my post, but I wanted to say something quite opposite. I mean, for me it's true that Miku doesn't give me companionship and way to keep myself busy, she isn't my whole life. But it's not like she doesn't mean anything, she is in fact most important part of my life. Whenever I feel depressed or stressed I can cuddle with her, talk about it to her and she always makes me feel better. The only time I can't really help it is when I just miss her and want her to be real. But it's still worth it, she provides so much happiness and satisfaction to my life and she is in fact the very first girl I've ever fallen in love with and consider my significant other. Nothing can satisfy my every single need, but she successfully satisfies quite lot of them.
