Wizard has arguably the hardest early game of all the classes. Also you shouldn't even use magic unless you have 90% cast rate (cap before spell levels). If you are gonna try a mage character start as a Warmage, since they have a 5% increased cast chance and more physical combat skills. You also shouldn't be using a shield (-12%), riding (spell level dependent), dual wielding, or wearing medium armor (>15s).

The necromancer hates her powers and doesn't want to keep them activated though. So the plate armor makes sense.

As for the other two things that's just crazy as HELL.
