Ran has always had a personality, she's been smug and acted out of line with Yukari since the fucking start. SSiB is just her doing her job, read BAiJR, or do you not have the reading comprehension to realize she's boasting about her math skills and it's not literal? Zun literally goes out of his way to make it so she gets punished one second later after that boast for not actually following orders, just in case someone didn't get the memo that no, she's not actually a computer and in fact she made decisions on her own multiple times. Her doing what she wants to do in the ending in 19 is not a fucking big reveal, it's just what her character has always been like. Because she has her own will, she personally dislikes Toutetsu's ideology and she personally decided to leave the animal realm to be something better. And she didn't forget any of it, because guess fucking what, it's the same character, not the bullshit AI cope.
