The technology for robot waifus is simply not here yet. It will probably take 20 to 50 years until we see anything like persocoms in Chobits. A big problem is the fact that we do not have any reliable artificial muscle technology yet, robotics technology will never go anywhere if we are just using motors for movement.

Another hurdle is AI, that technology has been stuck in a rut for over 20 years now and has progressed little. Nobody's gotten beyond creating simple worm-level neural nets for anything even remotely intelligent.

The only choices we have today even remotely resembling robotics waifus are sex dolls. And unfortunately they fall short of this goal, because ultimately they are simply unresponsive sex toys that you cannot rely on to give you emotional support and love. Unless, of course, you delude yourself to a certain extent. It is unfortunate, but those are the only choices currently available.
