Destroys a primary reason for people fearing and hating monsters. Letting the monsters run wild means the end of mankind. So it has to be balanced.

Destroys a big piece of friction for human and monster societies. The old "They'll take our women" that has been the driver for racial prejudice for thousands of years.

Destroys the alien nature of monsters for most children in society. The kid marrying the Oni down the street won't be intimidated if he was raised by an Ogre. That's loosing a big part of the monster quality.

Quite frankly, it's much less interesting.

Monstergirls are monstergirls and not monster *space* girls because they're not just the females of some generic fantasy species.
