I disagree. H!P has a pretty bad track record with this sort of thing. They are terrible at covering it up and they are even worse at handling the fallout. The only reason that they're so strict with that stuff is that they don't really have a more respectable fanbase to fall back on and so they have to do these things to appease the "hardcore" fans (who are, ironically, a big part of the reason the mainstream media no longer associates with H!P so much) who buy all their merchandise and multiple copies of their singles. Both the management and the fanbase are to blame for this sort of thing. The guy in >>4429797 probably ripped all of those photos and sent some death threats before posting them on an image site and hanging himself.

I support my idols but I don't delude myself and I certainly don't believe that a girl's career and life should be ruined because of a mistake she made when she was 15 years old. I would be pissed if my favourite member were to get into some sort of boyfriend scandal, but as a fan, I would be more than willing to give her a second chance. Given the choice, you would want Kanna back right?

They do have this rule, but they aren't as strict and they've shown that they are willing to give the girls a second chance if they can prove that they've learned their lesson. If Kikuchi were to pull that shit again, there is no way they would let her into a third audition.

It's more like a certain type of person comprises most of the fanbase of H!P while anti-fans are generally looked down upon among the AKB48 fanbase. Things were much better for them a decade ago, but I'm not even going to get into that.
