i didnt read all of the argument or w/e leading up to ur post but bc i always like to ctrl f jamal and ur post has the most jamals i decided to respect u and read ur entire post

im happy the quality language time thing stuck with somebody out there esp since i havent said that in a long time i dont think

i like the emphasis on critical thinking but i think u should be just as free spirited with that as u would ideally be in looking up words u dont know

as far as time goes yea in the early going yea i prolly only spent an hour or 2 a day watching anime and then listened to music while doing other things so definitely all low quality nihongo time but after many hours possibly 10000 when i started to employ the old noggin thats when the big leaps started to happen cuz somehow i knew stuff i could react to stuff with words and phrases i didnt know i knew and i could even predict the next line a hentai game etc basically the best way to explain it is i was a baby chick bustin out the egg

but that all happened without even trying really i didnt have to "test" myself or try to internalize it was always just a series of a-ha moments but anyway the more i was able to think the more i came to know in the moment like how わたしはゲイ

its hard to explain how u can make the transition from being a eng sub scrub but after a while u just check out other shit and start makin those connections and its ftw as hell and then u keep branching out keep absorbing like a sponge and then it starts happening: u start winning hard

basically if it was like a graph itd look like this where u just come to a point where u hit escape velocity and just start constantly winning and it never stops lol
