Same, I really like things like anime cons because they're the one place where you can really drop all pretenses and be completely open about the stupid shit you pass off as hobbies because you know everyone else is either into it too or won't judge you for it at the very least, it's a fun environment

Only weird thing I noticed is that when I go with friends I'm a lot less likely to try talking to new people, but if I split off and spend some time alone there I have way less reservations about it
