If Touhou's on the loose were a real concern, I'd be more afraid sudden nuclear holocaust.

As she sulks I begin to realize the depth of the situation. This youkai--this woman has become something similar to a human. It would be wrong of me to simply accept her as less of a youkai or to simply label her as if she were actually human, but rather what she has become lies somewhere between youkai and human. If anything, she is both.

I say nothing. I know not what drives this very human emotion she displays, and therefore I can do nothing to comfort her or help her. She has lost herself; what good am I to her besides a tool to hide her from her own loneliness? Perhaps now I understand why she surrounds herself with youkai like the winged girl beside me.

“If you’ll excuse me,” says Satori, quickly leaving the room. I’ve no idea if it was intentional on her part, but to me she appeared to be hiding her face. Nevertheless I’m fully aware she heard every thought running through my mind. Okuu is quick to follow, though only after casting an awfully hostile glare in my direction does she leave the room.

“Well, so much for dinner,” I say, heading back the way I came. It’s a bit of a shame she left in such haste. I had much I would have wanted to ask her; particularly about the color of her hair. But it would seem I’ve overstayed my welcome, and rather than face some nasty repercussion I decide to leave now. I’ve no direction, but that never stopped me before. Unlike this satori girl, I can handle myself without the company of others.

I pass through the front door, waving at the girl I saw earlier as she walks past me into the building. The stench of decaying bodies is marvelously overpowering. Were they a little less ripe I’d have likely taken one with me as a snack. I think to myself; if Satori wanted to end her loneliness, why surround her house with bodies? Or better yet, why live underground where no soul would dare tread. She is purposefully perpetuating her situation, though I know not why.
