There are a couple fanworks I like that would probably fall within the grimsokyo definition, actually now I think about it.
It's just the shit anons post is top tier cancer.
The best way about it is to try and not overdo it, making KOGASA of all 'hus "scary" by applying the .exe creepypasta filter on it.
I'd agree with cutesokyo being just as annoying though, moe through the ears starts to piss me off, only surpassed by yuri, and if a thing has yuri, it's going to have a LOT of yuri in touhou
If you're interested as to what I mean, and have a day or so to kill, look up "average man's trip to Gensokyo" on AO3.
It's not the *best*, but it's pretty good, and is generally well written.
It's actually why I like Rumia so much. And then I made the mistake of watching osana reimu not long after. Wasn't the best choice.

does Rumia really eat people? its stated various times that she never truly catches no one, blinding herself and crashing into trees. Ironically, youkai need emotions such as fear to exist, so the idea of being eaten by her, plus that she does chase people around, do feed her in a way. maybe thats why none of the yokai hunters tries to exterminate her: she's the example of being too dense to actually do any harm, too adorable to kill
that is, until that ofuda falls down one day...
