They went through really different costume changes at first, pic related, but it's been pretty much the same since 2013.

After their first album release and they not only got lots of online hype but also lots of success in touring around music festivals in north america and europe, their management/producer decided to change both their sound and their outfit.

I can't really speculate on what the intent was behind the decision to change things up, but it makes sense that they wanted to change to be more marketable towards the West.

Maybe they thought that underage girls showing off a bit of skin would be too shocking for the west so they had them cover up. Obviously they're not familiar with Disney Princess culture.

Maybe they just wanted to look and sound more mature and they thought that was the natural progression of things.
