It's just as normal of an instinct for men, but we're discouraged from trying it out, which is a shame. Ever dated a woman from a rich family? It's fucking fun to go places, do things and meet people, that you otherwise wouldn't, just because the entire world is built to never tell her "no". Unless you have control issues, or low confidence, and need to be the one deciding everything, I suppose.
