That makes more sense since I saw Nips also saying they were having trouble with it, but I decided to give it a go now and it went incredibly easy. Zuo Ji has like no HP. However, I have a fully built Valentine's Arthur that nukes 90% of the fodder enemies, so I'm guessing that might be where the issue lies for most people.

The one I ended up having the most trouble with out of the ones I've done so far is the Rider/Lancer one which fights Dagon. Another one I remember being annoying was the Aerial/Rider one due to map layout, but that was also one of the first I did.
