IIRC, he compared it with writing about Godzilla and then Godzilla appearing for real, so the story probably would involve a pandemic. I wonder if he completely scrapped the plot and started rewriting it rather than just delaying it.

Then again, Mei just had a "everyone in the world dies from a pandemic, the end" end to its 2nd chapter and no one raised any issues.
