That's a "stalk birth". There's stalk births and there's mammalian births. The general idea behind them is that when yukkuris refresh, that results in mammalian pregnanc. When adult Yukkuri do rub-rub, that's becomes a stalk pregnancy. Though a lot of artists just have refreshing result in a pregnancy of whatever they like.

Then there's the yukkuri eggs, and other strange ones that aren't common at all. Only some artists do those.

As a kid, I remember blowing into a plant since the stalk is meant to give nutrients, so it's more or less hallow inside.
