Does the average human villager know about youkai roaming in their midst? According to PMiSS (Dangerous Area Guide: Human Village):

This seems contradicted by the depiction of the human village in Forbidden Scrollery or Lotus Eaters where it's taboo for youkai to reveal themselves as seen by all of the youkai actively attempting to hide their identities.
I would assume that the depiction in Forbidden Scrollery is the more valid one as it's (a) more recent, and (b) more logical in preserving Gensokyo's balance; it would be harder for villagers to fear youkai if they became all chummy with them. Although the incidents and tales of youkai seem to keep the fear strong, notwithstanding.
In FS it was a big deal when a youkai was in the human village. Something as harmless as the fox child leaving wall writings in a classroom sent the villagers into panic.Even a non-feral one like Mamizou caused Kosuzu much grief when it was revealed to her.
Then there is the half-youkai Keine who is a protector of the village, but I'm not sure if her identity is revealed to the average villager. Yuuka is also known to visit the flower shop from time-to-time but it is unknown if the florist knows she is youkai.
The current setting seems ambivalent to the idea of youkai being out in the open, so to speak, when it involves the human village, as opposed to the past's more friendly take on it.
