I'm not even sure if I like this guy's voice but the first 30 seconds of his Backrooms cover hit me like a truck because of the similarity.

I wonder why they started off with literal superstars like Mafumafu and Teddyloid only to descend into less and less notable producers as time passed. Like I get it before Luxiem or even Noctyx (if the song was commissioned before Luxiem blew up which is likely) since they might have seen diminishing returns, but I feel like the fact that the producers keep getting more obscure despite EN money becoming a sure thing is really strange.
Just weird musings but yeah. I like Mafu's song, Teddyloid's is my favorite, the Chibanyan one for Ethyria is alright. The rest... not really great. Didn't the latest guy only have one other credit to his name or something? I just wonder what goes into these decisions, especially since JOPs love EN unit songs apparently.

Music isn't something requiring your full attention to the exclusion of all else, it can easily be enjoyed while doing other things. It also does not need to be consumed in any particular order, not even by entire albums at a time. There's this great new thing called shuffling your playlist. Not to mention that most songs are generally only 3 to 4 minutes long, and if you're only consuming by the song, and not the album, it's still a minimal investment to listen and see if you like it, and want to add it to your playlist.

Thus, it strikes me as utterly absurd to create a "backlog" of things to "listen to." It's not by accident that most songs of any kind are short enough for a quick scan. A backlog of 45 minute TV shows that you don't have time to watch? Sure. A backlog of 50h+ investment vidya games you want to play? Totally understandable. But a backlog of 3 minute songs you can listen to while you drive, cook, read, work, study... I can't imagine how quickly you'd have to add to it in order to justify not just listening through it. If you've got the time to browse for a song, you've got the time to listen to it. Might as well have a backlog of pictures you want to view, at that rate.

For the above reasons, I can't imagine what kind of obligations you'd have to have in order to justify making a list of music that you'd have to wait to listen to. So it may not be a "hard" concept, but it's certainly a ridiculous one. That's just my two cents.
