There is a pack on the Elona main page that should still work, which has a bunch of normal PCC sprites. They might be oddly resized because of Elona's zooming of the sprites that got changed in Plus, though. The pic here is an example, with sprites similar to what was used before on the top that are enlarged in a terrible way, with the unmodified sprites that look good in Plus at the bottom.

There was an updated version of the pack that someone posted in one of these threads before, although I lost my own download.

I'm more into the completed sprites than individual parts personally, but I don't know think there's a big archive of those other than the mess of random sprites I uploaded to Mega many threads ago.

Black cats are pretty nice. The lick barely ever activates, and you'd probably want to mod their AI with AP so they they stay further away from the front lines, but once you evolve them their Browbeat is pretty useful as a support skill. If you want to use an exile, they get Eclipse on their own once evolved. The dart ability isn't as strong as it seems, since they do reduced damage per hit compared to single darts.

You might want to just use something like a little girl or dog sister and evolve those instead though. God hearts are pretty rare, so you'll probably want to use that on your android instead, even if Fire a Volley doesn't seem to be that useful.

One of the interesting things you can do in Plus is evolve some of your pets, which can improve them somewhat. The little girl has some decent evolutions, with her first one able to use Cheer, which gets you a speed boost. Finding the heart you need early on is very random, though.

The initial pet you get actually starts at a higher level, including higher stats and skills, if you pick it up when you're higher level yourself. I don't remember if it's 1:1, but the limit is about level 50. Interestingly enough, wishing for ally gets you the starter pet dialog again, and you can pick up one of the initial 4 again, giving you another chance to get one of those at a higher level. The advantage over doing it from level one is just that the stats are higher all-around at the same level.

Of course, wishing for an astral light pen might be better now that the level requirement to use it is only half the target's level.

Catsister diaries aren't rare enough that it's worth picking up with medals, at least in Plus. The Sage's Helm is usually a good pick up early, rather than having to wait for 40 faith for one of the god weps that can see invisible, but it's a disappointment stat-wise. The tonfas are also really strong early because of the damage boost it gives to your other weaps.

It's worth noting that on the opening treasure thing, the Forts of Chaos don't count as the level of dungeon they display. People that try it would be

Rerolling the bonuses on artifacts with a scroll of superior material is also supposed to yield better results with more luck. But with Elona's crazy RNG, it's hard to tell whether it's working sometimes.

Also, anyone attempting it should know that the luck you get from blessed food is much lower than what you get from the dream lucky day. I think the statue of Ehekatl's bonus is the latter one, but memory fails me on that point.
