The only reason I was popular was because I didn't care. That and the drugs. the drugs helped a lot. Booze too. Lots of both. When I was sober I was always hyper-self-conscious, worrying over the slightest fucking detail. Anal retentive doesn't cover it- you couldn't get a greased ball bearing up my ass with a sledgehammer.

Once I had enough drugs and alcohol in me to the point when I didn't give an absolute fuck about anything and wasn't hung up on absolutely every single fucking detail about everything, I could talk to people.

I didn't become self-confident enough to be like that without the drugs and alcohol until after I left High School.
