Just want to react to your opinion about Shiki.
I don't really know what to think about him. I wouldn't say he was bland, far from that. He had a real personnality through the vn, he had qualities and flaws.
That being said, I would agree on the fact he looks a little impersonal, devoid of real goals, desires.
His character is great because he's mirroring his emotions, questioning, his way of thinking, his pain, etc, to the reader. It adds a strong personnality to Tsukihime because we are so close to every thought he has.

In the end, I can't stop to think he's more of a media than a real human being. I didn't really feel close to him, nor I felt real connections to his character.
