On a side note,

Since we talked a bit about it, I just created a copy variation of my current engine to use only sprites and a real isometric approach.
Like you can see, there's that clipping issue (because Marisa and her big hat) and in the last part the shadow where, since it's baked and not dynamic, it's possible to have it being above empty space (though that wouldn't happen since the design would prevent you to go that way).

I do admit that the tiles are cuter and it's also faster to work that way, and also all those issues could probably be avoided with good design and half blocks : which means instead of having an empty space right next one walkable, you have another solid block but with fancy graphics (like some broken wall or something).

You can't really see it in that webm since my computer is shit but it looks better, I'll post a pic next.
