Yeah I took Japanese classes at my university and a few online through third party schools.

I don't know how it is elsewhere, but my university classes moved at an extremely slow pace, and the professor didn't seem very eager to teach. The first half of class we would do some kind of grammar or vocab exercises, maybe some shadowing, and then after a while it seemed he would just get bored and start talking about some random bs that was going on in Japan at the time. I remember the most egregious example of this was around the time when Princess Mako married a commoner and literally the entire fucking class he talked about that and the other drooling retards just kept feeding into the conversation and continually made it so we learned nothing throughout the class. I felt angry after that one.

I took some online ones too which were considerably better (no English permitted at all during class) but my own retardation prevented me from participating more. Now I realize I should have been biting at every chance I got to speak more Japanese. I would take another course like that again if only for the chance to converse in Japanese on a semi-regular basis.

My advice is to make sure what you're taking is actually gonna teach you Japanese. Look for something that's gonna challenge you. Avoid taking classes at liberal education institutions that can't be fucked to respect your time and money.
