My ass. If were not for those crazy fucking rich Japanese wota who simp for and throw money at their beloved oshis and/or any girl AKBG mgmt promotes, deserving nor not, it would've been dead right now. And that would go on for ages since virtually AKBG's a fucking powerhouse.

Despite of all the scandals, controversy and backlash it got both internationally and locally and the gradual deterioration of the quality of the music they make I'm still fairly surprised that it's still afloat and relevant in the J-Pop scene.

However, be damn grateful that they still haven't swollen the bitter pill yet and decided to ditch their (desu, rather dysfunctional) "sister group" system, instead opting for a more mainstream marketing strategy that might mean incorporating more mainstream (degenerate) Western themes in their music and identity.

Even if their business model & approach is flawed & outdated by Western standards, don't forget that Aki-P's goal for this group is for it only to be catered, intended, and focused at Japanese audiences. This is why even if it had potential to be a counterpart to SK's SNSD/2ne1 back then, it might be a risky move that might have killed the group if they did (even with help from the Japanese gov't) venture out into foreign audiences, since basically weird avant garde music can't compete with Billboard hot 100 style shit.

I sure bet an eloquent maiden like her might have a good ear for cultured and splendid music. What kind of music is she listening to upon taking this picture, I wonder?
