Usually those people lose all their money because they were never good at handling money to begin with, i.e being wasteful.
If you were frugal before then even if you earn a sizable amount of money you will remain frugal most of the time.

I've been at almost rock-bottom with barely 100$ a month to spend and while that isn't poverty it was poverty enough for me to never want to end up in that situation again, so even now that I have a huge excess of money I still don't spend outside of my range.
About the only thing I can consider being a "waste" is superchatting my oshi.
