I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Spaghetti, is in fact, Manicotti, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Manicotti shaped pasta. Spaghetti is not the only pasta unto itself, but rather one component of a fully functioning system of pasta made unique by their shape, all of which comprising a full pasta library as defined by Italy.

Many birds cook a modified version of Spaghetti every day, called Manicotti, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of pasta widely used today is often called Spahgetti, and many of its cooks are not aware that it is basically Manicotti shaped pasta, developed by the Italians.

There really is Spaghetti, and these birds have cooked it, but it is just a part of the many types. Pasta is the kernal: foods made from an unleavened dough of flour and water or eggs and water, and sometimes a combination of egg and flour. The kernel is an essential part of a culinary system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a shape. Manicotti is normally used in combination with a tomato based pasta sauce: the whole system is basically Manicotti shaped pasta with tomato added, or Manicotti pasta. All the so-called Spaghetti cooks are really cooks of Manicotti pasta.
