Haha, there’s the rub. This is nothing new - it’s the stuff ancient Kings went mad over. And as David Mitchell said “You’ve thought about eternity for five minutes, and think you’ve formed some interesting conclusions.”

So in a dry intellectual sense it’d be easy to just brush this all away. The problem is when brushing that stuff away feels like that guy in the twilight zone trying to ignore the gremlin on the plane.

Umineko has played a role in my current predicament. Not that I hate Umineko because of it - writing up scripts for drawfags to draw was some of the best part of my life. But the notion of being a piece on a game board - of being in a game whose rules seem to change and which you can’t understand - yeah that’s Uminekos fault, baby.
