Why would they be called otaku when they're outside Japan? Here in the US there's plenty of them and lots of model train clubs around. My grandpa had a huge train table with a custom wired control system that put most sci-fi movies to shame. Loads of train books, train VHS tapes, and some train pictures hanging on the walls.

Our trains usually aren't very fancy so people who are into trains often focus on the history rather than the latest tech.
