Lets say I was interested in casually learning more about Feudal Japan while not doing stuff at work, name me some of the best books to go for please.

Also unrelated to the first request, are there blogs of ex-pats (American) who immigrated to Japan and just talk about daily life/struggles trying to assimilate?
