That is so in character. She had an interview with Aya where she did something similar but Aya is low IQ and doesnt have an ounce of curiosity in her so she cut Ran off when Ran was explaining her formula/proofs. I imagine that if she were with a boy she would use her feminine fox wiles and magic to keep him interested in whatever autistic math stuff she wants to vent out to him. Also the ''Just a little something to pass the time.'' is filled with advanced mathematics and physics, chemistry, biology and even stuff on history and politics and economics that could change everything if humans learned of it. Her notes also shit on a lot of what we know about everything.
