The guy in Matsuri's roommate's stream was actually a hololive staffer, probably a technician that was going to set something up on her computer off-hours, but didn't expect her to be streaming with an active cam on another account at that moment. She had to lie because it's against policy to say that the talents work alongside men.

The peko-moona-kiara plot is an actual power-of-friendship storyline complete with an antagonist.
>protagonist makes friend but they can barely communicate and have never done a voice collab
>new "friend" appears who is more popular, can speak the same language, is obsessed with the protagonist and has questionable intent
>is jealous of the original friend and wants to replace her
>new "friend" almost gets what she wants but is defeated and overshadowed in her collab by her rival
>protagonist does a wholesome collab with her original friend despite various perceived difficulties
In the process everyone forgets that Pekora already talked to Moona during the sports festival because they're so invested in the tension of the ongoing plot.

What narrativefags think is happening:
>Shark is still angry Risu beat her in Among Us over a week ago so she's intentionally retaliating against an event Miko set up for a month straight with over 30 holos participating!
What is actually happening:
>The event was scheduled in the middle of EN primetime to get everyone's schedules to align and Shark already had a scheduled stream at that time. She was not advised to reschedule or perhaps even told nothing at all because of EN's nonexistent management, so she doesn't know not to stream.

Shark's still a dumbass for not realizing of her own volition the amount of narratives and drama this is going to feed.

>streaming during someone else's [event] is bad
>holos intentionally stream at the same time all the time, as an [event] called a collab
Reconcile these two arguments. If Ayame streaming during Suisei's outfit reveal is bad then why do holos have simultaneous collab streams so often?

That fluctuation is just the casual viewership who watches whatever is the hot topic of Hololive lately. Korone got a ton of buzz because of the run-up to 1m and surpassing Fubuki, but once she hit 1m and also didn't stream much for that week the attention fell off of her and onto Pekora who has a lot of shit going on lately with Moona, Aqua, Miko, and being the next one to run-up to 1m. These viewers come and go easily and are pretty much the opposite of gachikoi so the only real difference is that whoever has them gets more subs that week.

Whether people are friendly or hostile has everything to do with competitiveness. Niji has way too many talents and is paradoxically declining. That means their employees are frustrated/stressed, and pushed into tribalizing and cannibalizing. Hololive on the other hand is booming, the majority of the girls make absolutely disgusting amounts of money and those on the lower end still easily get by. You can pretty much guarantee that all their talents are over the fucking moon and whatever troubles they have is moreso related to work/life demands than work environment social conflicts. People in their position actively prioritize good relationships because they have way more to lose by being involved with drama/losing collab opportunities than they do by not pushing down potential competition.

Menhera Matsuri is an act. She knows acting desperately lonely gets her fan pity and it's also her basis for supplying her audience what they want, which is the open sexualization of other female chuubas. However this also makes it hard for Matsuri to have major lasting partnerships with other chuubas, because her content essentially revolves around tarnishing others. This is also why she primarily goes after less popular, kouhai chuubas and non-holos, because they're small enough and low enough in seniority that the potential damage of being tarnished by Matsuri is outweighed by the benefits of getting Matsuri exposure. It's actually a pretty clever mutually-beneficial setup, because characters that aren't originally sexual like Luna can choose to sell some sexuality by being pervved on by Matsuri, then when the "Matsuri arc" is done they go back to being pure/nonsexual, all while Matsuri gets another set of risque content to entertain her own viewership.

You can bet all of Matsuri's escapades are carefully vetted beforehand. This is an idol-esque industry after all, their autism can be seen in the way holostars is handled. A walking sex scandal like Matsuri would not be allowed to run wild all over new talents, even as a gen 1 female, if there wasn't a strong sense of confidence it wouldn't backfire, which they could only have if it were all an act.

Keep in mind this right now is not a permanent situation. The EOPs are a big, new audience. They're not entrenched like 90% of the japanese fans. Polka and other JP streamers putting their usual routine on hold to try to make a bigger name for themselves during this period of time doesn't mean they've abandoned their identity, it's just a detour for gains.

There will probably be all sorts of experimentation over the next year or so by those tubers that think they have an good opportunity with EOPs, but that'll eventually stabilize as well and people will get back to their long term goals.
