Humans didn't evolve to wrestle and outmuscle gorillas, that much is obvious so you don't need to mention that we are physically weak. We are losing teeth and getting bigger brains. Our advantage obviously isn't in our muscles. Ancient hunter gatherers knew that they will die if they get hit by something sharp like claws, but they didn't have claws of their own so they invented knives. Then they realized their knives have such short range so they developed spears. In a short matter of time they already can counter any predators that can ever threaten them. In a sense, the human ability to copy an opponent's strengths and use it against them is probably the best predator ability.

We haven't met any real threatening predators now other than each other so we haven't evolved our weaponry beyond ranged weapons. My guess is if we do meet aliums and manage to hold our own long enough we will see massive changes to our technology.
