I wouldn't call the main male "protagonist" a protagonist due to how the VN was presented from different perspectives. Actually, it feels like the only protagonists here are the main female heroines. But yeah, the male MC doesn't have any character at all. He's mostly just there to serve as a plot device between the two families. Having the maid route as a non-main one makes sense because of her role in the prequel. I do agree with the company side lacking exposure. They should've had more scenes just enough to show you how "evil" or "bad" they are.
