I really hate Umineko and Higurashi with textboxes patched in. There is a reason why the author decided to have walls of text instead. He only approved of the Alchemist remake to get money and hopefully make his stuff popular with the normies.

Higurashi and Umineko are not regular visual novels. Hell, they aren't even considered "visual" novels by the author. The sounds, the music and the text are the most important parts. The visuals are only there to complement everything else, and they do a really good job.

What I'm trying to say is that relegating the text (which was intended to appear as a WALL in a certain way) to a tiny textbox with the character's name in one corner like in a normal visual novel is a mistake.

KEY's Kanon has beautiful visuals and they are one of the most important elements of the novel. And most of the text is dialogue between the main character and the girls he can end up dating, so it makes sense to put the text in a rectangular box and show the speaker's name. Otherwise, it would obscure the visuals. But in the WTC series, you are only meant to look at the visuals for a second to see where the characters are, what emotion they are feeling or who moved their head (signaling who is speaking now). 90% of the time you are reading the text.

Alchemist's changes don't fit his artistic vision at all. I can't believe so many "fans" of Ryukishi consider his original novels "cheap-looking" (when they are anything but that) and would rather experience a commercial, dumbed down version of his novels.

They have no respect for the author and don't trust him to make good decisions regarding the sound, look and feel of his works and how that affects the reader's experience. They take him for a talentless fool.

It's OK if you dislike his art, his photographs or his walls of texts. But at least give the guy's original vision a CHANCE instead of patching the shit out of the novels the moment you decide to read them for the first time. It's an acquired taste and it tastes pretty damn good.

My witch is golden dreamer
Of magical gore bits
Nothing is on the creature
For Maria in September

Witch is golden dreamer
It's magical Gohda chef
I'm gonna piss in fire
For magical breeding power

In the brewing party
Saw every everything
There he comes, breaking the darkness
Geoooorge in grief

Yo, Master crazy
Saw every everything
In a way, I'm feeling
My broken artichoke

Your witch is golden player
For Maria a golden sweet
You're gonna piss in fire
With Maria witnessing both

And the witch is golden prayer
For Maria is going that way
Rocking on the creature
The magical story goes

Sealing doors in silence
That's really really low
Here it comes, breaking a diaper
Show me lame

Yo, Master crazy
Saw every everything
In a way, you're breaking
My broken artichoke

Witch is golden breaker
Magical golden wing
Rocking on the creature
With Maria who saw them both

Witch is golden breaker
It's magical Gohda chef
I'm gonna piss in fire
For magical breeding power

In the golden party
Sat very very thing
Is the goal breaking the darkness?
George, please

Yo, Master crazy
Saw every everything
In a way, I'm feeling
My broken artichoke

Witch is golden saucer
From Maria she got the sweets
You're gonna piss in fire
Despite it being October

And the witch is golden saucer
Oh Maria, she got away
Posting on that creature
The medical story go

Kill and kill in silence
She practically only wished
Here she comes, breaking a dark pig
Show me lame

Yo, Master crazy
Saw every everything
By the way, you're breaking
My broken artichoke

Kihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihi~

That's is what I hear. There is room for improvement, though.

Sayo wanted to kill herself and take down any person she perceived as "guilty" or who would be devastated by her death. That's what the bomb is for. Battler showing up made her reconsider her plan, so she decided to give everyone a chance by carrying out the epitaph and sending that letter. If someone solves it or figures out the tricks, they will be able to stop the crime. She made it solvable for Battler.

Battler is to blame for indirectly creating that situation. If he hadn't said that stuff to Sayo, she would've quit her job sooner and by the time she learned that she's actually a creepy underdeveloped eunuch her situation would be completely different. She'd probably have a stable relationship with someone she could really trust with her issues. Instead, she was in a relationship with this fucking beta nerd who lived only for her sake and would probably go nuts if something went wrong with his waifu. She was also wondering if being a guy would be a better idea, because that's supposed to be her real sex and Jessica is super hot. Her only friend, Maria, was going to grow up with psychological issues and a terrible mother. And she's also kind of pissed at Battler for making her waste so many years thinking about him, when he never gave much of a shit about Shannon. And on top of that, she had access to guns and giant bomb that could wipe everything out and end her misery. It's easier to gather up the resolve needed to kill yourself if you've already dirtied your hands and the consequences of your actions will be more painful than pulling a trigger.

You should also consider that Sayo was raised in a christian orphanage where they fed her ideas about Heaven and shit, much like Hifumi did to Takano with the story of how Jesus lives forever because he left a mark in the world. The magic persona she uses to play with Maria is an intentional fabrication, but it's obvious that she really believes in some kind of spiritual afterlife.

I think there was a good amount of foreshadowing showing that they were messed up people. The Sumadera family is like the Sonozaki family but even more screwed up.

Speaking of that, it's impressive how Ryukishi makes certain characters likeable without even giving them a name or a sprite. I still remember Ange's grandfather and the guy from the convenience store after all these years.
