Perhaps "creepiness" was a poor choice of words. Didn't mean that Sanae's situation is actually anyhow worse than the usual "teenager discovers supernatural powers"-sort of story, just that it's very different. In Sanae's world, the whole supernatural aspect doesn't just exist as a thin layer on her everyday life - it's rather that her past everyday life is a thin layer on her supernatural present.
