anon i do appreciate your effort in your crusade against alt idols but please leave local idols out of this

i dont know where your twisted image of local idols are coming from but they are far from what you are imagining

local idols or ご当地アイドル as what japanese people call them are just any idols based outside of tokyo regardless of style or popularity

local idols, especially the traditional ones who would try to represent the place where they are from are actually very nice. they work hand in hand with the locals and will often promote local produce and tourism of their small towns

i would say in fact that out of all the kinds of idols, small local idols are the most genuine and organic. they don’t rely on cheap tricks and shock factor like alt idols do, and they don’t have as much resources like mainstream major idols have. instead they start from the ground up and grow through pure hard work which is the very quintessence of idols

following and supporting small local idols until they finally make it on the big idol events in tokyo is just the true peak wota experience. i hope you experience it too someday anon....
