Oh hey guys, just thought I'd pop in and remind you that Chen probably isn't a virgin.

After all, you have to consider the fact that in order to be a nekomata Chen had to first be a LONG LIVED CAT. So assuming she lives as a wild cat for well over 10-20 years it seems unlikely she's pure.

Ironic almost really, you could feasibly argue that many of the other Touhou's are virgins in their own rights, either through age or the idea that youkai simply aren't that interested in sex (a assumption of course, but it doesn't seem very common that Youkai breed with other youkai, but rather are formed from special circumstances that make monsters of legend). So yeah, ironic that a character most often depicted as a pure childish cat girl is probably one of the more experienced seeing as beast youkai have to be animals first.

Close, but it was more that Ran doesn't expect Chen is mature enough to do that many chores for her rather then that Chen doesn't do them. Chen is pretty loyal but when you get down to it she's not someone you send to the village to buy food nor is she going to be all that good at patrolling the boundary for maintenance. At best she's asked to watch the place while she's out and maybe do things like wash the dishes. So she gets alot of time to play about.

Eventually she'll get used to people and learn enough about Ran's duties (which are really Yukari's but she's a lazy bitch) to help with them, but right now they just don't trust she could do them right.

I like Chen's canon personality (what little of it exists). She's very loyal to her masters and takes the few instructions she is given very seriously. That aside she's essentially the beast youkai she's meant to be with her beast's aspect clearly defined in how she attacks and what her weaknesses are. I think her mentality is also not supposed to be child like in the sense she acts like a child, but more in that she isn't used to human interactions beyond that of predator and prey. She's not been a youkai as long as her masters and she's relatively young.

Are Chen's claws retractable?
