paying someone to do it is honestly the last, most final resort especially with the improvements in tech. assuming you're certain English subs don't already exist, you can:

1. look for a Chinese srt file on subtitlecat if it exists - if it does, skip to step 5, if not, keep going. Note: you can probably ignore the English file if there is one since it'll probably be machine translated badly anyway
2. in the absence of a separate Chinese .srt file, look for a video with hardcoded Chinese subtitles by searching the code followed by 中文字幕 and download it. as long as you're not looking for something too obscure, you'll probably find it
3. run it through videosubfinder which isolates the subtitle lines as images
4. run those through abbyy finereader which converts them to text through optical character recognition (OCR) technology
5. run the subtitles through DeepL and Google Translate. i highly recommend using both rather than one or the other
6. expect to make some manual adjustments to taste/fix grammar and colloquialisms, etc
7. enjoy

an alternative is through a program called Whisper that will detect the dialogue with AI tech and transcribe it. this is a relatively new development but some sirs on this general have had good results

if you really "need" to, there are websites that offer subtitling services specifically for JAV. i'm not sure i'd recommend any

The whole "you-are-the-product" thing isn't supposed be some sinister tinfoil hat Jewish overlord brainwashing conspiracy stuff nor am I saying JAV is the pinnacle of art (except when I'm shitposting). I mostly just think it's clever design on the part of western pornography with its greater focus on consistently pushing the right buttons in the brain in contrast with the slow-burn and usually less conspicuous presentation of JAV.
To elaborate further, are you familiar with kid's Youtube? You know how they bombard a young viewer with the most perfectly formulated combination of sounds and images and colours and catchphrases and buzzwords and action to keep children constantly fixated and stimulated and gratified in a way that's quite different to, say, how kids TV shows were when we were growing up? That's kinda how I perceive most (not all) professionally-made western pornography. It pushes all the right buttons in the brain pretty much constantly to trigger the optimum/maximum amount of dopamine, endorphins, and whatever else is in a feel-good hormone cocktail to keep viewers chemically and psychologically hooked and wanting more.
JAV still has this in some ways especially when its viewers are often known to still gravitate to increasingly harder genres but I find the presentation overall to be less deliberate and calculated with commercial interests in mind. Even when there's spectacle that would specifically appeal to any brain chemistry and psychology and triggering an emotional response, it still feels more like a director just wanted it a certain way to fit his artistic and/or autistic vision rather than purely manipulative or measured interests for the sake of keeping someone glued to the material or perpetually on the search for that next psychological high. It's not that I find western porn more dishonest since all pornography is essentially presenting an unrealistic version of sex, but there's also something about it that I find disconcerting and I can literally feel myself becoming more impressionable when I watch it. I think JAV retains more artistic merit in comparison, much in the same way as Sesame Street having more charm than Baby Shark or whatever else is cool with kids nowadays.
