Strawman. You're comparing an event where you go to have fun to a message board meant for discussion and arguing? This is like asking "In Comiket not a single asshole is around to complain about tastes in anime so why do people do it on the Internet?" The context is completely different and I'm perplexed as to why I should be even explaining this.

Also this is nothing. In Japanese internet arguing about the definition of denpa was common in 2ch threads. See image.
Even the creator of the 笑える電波ソングを集めるガイドライン had to ask everyone to stop arguing about it back then.

In wikipedia there was also a lot of arguing in the talk page that ultimately lead to the 電波ソング page to be deleted.

黒めだか also mentioned this and he liked the English denpa song article for being concise. I also remember him saying he liked how we didn't worry about that much compared to the Japanese.

In short if we hypothetically had a denpa event here in the west I'm sure no one would be there arguing about the denpa definition like a sperg. Don't blame us for something we haven't done because you sound like a fucking weeaboo.
