The translation is reasonable. Once you start using custom dictionaries to add the words and names it doesn't understand, the translation starts becoming pretty good.

No programming experience is required at all. Just starting up the game, AGTH and ATLAS is enough most of the time.

AGTH hooks into the game and copies the text out of it as it is being displayed, it also has a way of automatically copying it to the clipboard. ATLAS is translation software that has a way of automatically translating whatever is put on your clipboard.

In most cases it's as simple as starting the game through the AGTH executable and having ATLAS running at the same time. Though some games need custom made hooks because of oddities in the way they display text, there are various sites and forums dedicated to posting these hooks.
