I have a recurring daydream where Sakuya and Meiling are fighting Yumeko. To keep things interesting in a battle manga sort of sense, Meiling can heal others by transferring her ki through touch, and Sakuya's so exhausted at this point that she can only stop time for 1 second every 5 seconds. Yumeko's really strong so they couldn't beat her in a normal 2v1, and Sakuya can't use her time stop offensively anymore because of just how dangerous it is to be close to Yumeko. They had to be clever.

Sakuya and Meiling hatch a plan, and think that they got the drop on Yumeko. They attack Yumeko at the same time, Sakuya leaps from the back (hidden) and Meiling from the front.

Yumeko, being the combat-hardened sword maid that she is (in this fantasy), figures out the plan pretty quickly. She senses Sakuya and does a 360 spin with her swords, severing Sakuya's right leg and fatally wounding Meiling, splattering their blood all over the floor.

Yumeko turns to face towards Meiling. She doesn't even ask for any last words and attempts to end her life right now by decapitating her. Instead of feeling defeated, Meiling just smiles, and says

「掛かったな、アホ」
"We got you now, idiot"

Yumeko was confused, but this short moment of confusion was all that they needed. In the reflection of Meiling's eyes, Yumeko catches a glimpse of what was behind her: Sakuya leaping through the air with TWO legs, ready to plunge a knife deep into Yumeko.

Yumeko is a good fighter. Even then, in the trap that Sakuya and Meiling had caught her in, she had just enough time to swat Sakuya out of the air and end her life right there.

Sakuya stole a second of Yumeko's time, just before her sword could connect. At this distance, a second was all it took for Sakuya to get around Yumeko's defenses and precisely deliver her knife into Yumeko's skull. Yumeko falls to the floor with Sakuya on top of her, still clutching the knife.

Yumeko's limbs are paralyzed, but still able to talk.

「な、なんで…」
"How did you..."

She sees Meiling, her right leg smoldering as if it was burnt off.

「咲夜さんと繋がってんだ。お前がこぼした血で」
"I was connected to Sakuya-san. By the blood that you spilled."

Sakuya twists her knife inside Yumeko's brain, ending her personhood. She crawls over to Meiling and begs her.

「めいりん、早く回復をー」
"Meiling, heal yourself, quickly--"

「もうダメですよ、咲夜さん。」
"I can't, Sakuya-san."

「何言ってるの、気をー」
"What? Just use your ki--"

「私達の勝利に残った気を全てかけたんです。すみません…でした…」
"That was all of the ki I had left, and I had to put it all into our victory. I'm sorry..."

「ウソだ…先余裕あるって言ってたんじゃない！？」
"That can't be... you said you had enough to survive!"

「すみませんでした、咲夜さん…黙っていてすみませんでした…」
"I'm sorry Sakuya-san... I'm sorry for not telling you the truth."

Sakuya punches Meiling in the chest and weeps.

「い、痛いですよ…」
"Ow, that hurts..."

「馬鹿…馬鹿！」
"You idiot... you idiot!"

They've been through many powerful opponents, and in the end their fighting spirit and teamwork always made them come out on top. Sakuya would have never agreed to sacrificing Meiling, but they both knew that they had to do something drastic to come out victorious, fighting someone like this. Sakuya had no idea just how drastic it had to be. Now, with Meiling gone, for the first time in her life, Sakuya felt weak.
