Her finger-guns are amazingly versatile. Eyeballing from the fighting games, they fulfill every role of a pistol, shotgun and machine gun all at the same time. But it doesn't seem great for anything past medium-range, like how a rifle would be. Kaguya's IN profile even says that the astronaut's weapons(probably some type of sterotypical 'assault rifle' among other things since that's what America had at the time) were beating the Lunarian weapons at the time.

So it's not too far fetched to imagine Reisen using a nice fancy tacticool rifle, or even an old bolt action one like her friends on the moon have. Reisen using a traditional gun would be purely for the added accuracy and stability, like how you implied. She just doesn't need any sidearm, or weird specialized gun.
Unless it's that explosive pistol Akyuu's Lunar Capital article mentioned.
