It got the point across, it is uncomfortably fast for this board though. Imagegen has more or less peaked in terms of most fap material. AI's limitations are clear and the thread has gone from exploration of those limits and more to a cycle of requests and mass catbox dumping. This will continue until either the requesters bite the bullet and drop 25 bucks, or the few anons posting generations get tired and stop.

For the time being no. For porn artists it's GG. Good luck trying to get anything coherent with big busy images like picrel. Happy New Years btw
It is especially bad at keeping up with anything new unless the model is retrained often. For example, new Touhou characters, anniversaries, and other events. Artists have the inherent advantage that they can finish drawings within hours of these things with human quality, AI will lag behind for months if not a year.

It threatens artists in it for the money, artists drawing for the joy of drawing and improving a skill aren't threatened. Porn commission artists are especially fucked since AI can create whatever you have a fetish for in a few retries for you to masturbate too and move on; unless they go into a super niche or do it for free the future isn't looking good for them. Theaterfags adapted by becoming movie actors. Artists will have to do the same. Either they market themselves to the "purist" niche or they embrace AI as a tool to streamline the creative process and create art much faster. For example: gen up a dozen poses or scenes as references and either trace it or work normally.
There's also something to say for "name brands" and Japanese culture. Take Dairi for example, they're notable for being basically an alphes copycat and drawing portraits of every 2hu and having a laxer attitude towards the free use of their art, so long as you aren't selling it or claiming it as your own they doesn't care. Combine this with Japanese culture of art worship and only art created by the actual artist has any meaningful value, hell sometimes just posting their art without permission gets you hated on. So even though you have a machine that can replicate their style to a tee, people will still buy from that aritst.
Point is that AI art might not be as much of a problem to them as we think since if it's not made by them it just gets thrown out. That is, if the artist has a head on their shoulders and doesn't go the nuclear route (which they often do) and either anhero their accounts and stop making art altogether, or shit violently and have their works pulled from anything they can get to do so.
