Basically, Rika asks a favor from Bern. She had tried many things and failed to change a certain examination so she asked for Bern's favor to use her power to do that. During this conversation, Bern muses about how she was created due to Rika expelling everything inhuman in her. And even so Bern also outright states Rika has the power of a voyager too, and wonders why she's asking for her help. So, this just made the split stuff sound even odder. Since Rika still even has her looping powers apparently. Rika apparently fears she'd "drown" if she attempted to handle that issue - drowning referencing a voyager that just gives up and then sinks to the depths of the sea of fragments.

Bern was going from world to world torturing Irie in order to get him to stop some kind of special examination on Satoko. He says it's certainly secure, but she's having none of that. He isn't Lambda to talk about Certainty. After torturing him physically and mentally and it never breaking his will, Bern appears before him as a maid. After all, she's different from an idiot that would just attempt to brute force things like Lambda. But it still didn't work. Then she remembers Takano, and goes for her. She notes Takano is completely twisted inside, like a witch's egg (so, Sotsu memory leaks aren't canon?), anyway, Bern offers her a tour of the Saiguden, and even letting her take some stuff. THIS finally works, Takano immediately calls Tomitake for them to go out alone (which gets Tomitake really excited), and then convinces Irie to delay the examination for one week. Bern thinks Rika wouldn't be satisfied by that and mocks her, but Rika was happy. Rika gives Bern the promised prize, a special spicy plum tea - even though they're like negative and positive, they have the same tastes.

Finally, Rika is back home and Hanyuu pops up, saying some presence was blocking her from appearing. As it turns out, Rika wanted to get rid of the health exam because there's going to be a eating context with spicy meat, and Satoko wouldn't be able to participate if there had been the exam. So, delaying it one week is fine. It was never something actually dangerous. That's why Rika couldn't ask for Hanyuu's help, she'd be completely opposed to that.

Finally, Bern goes back home with her tea. Lambda tastes it and almost throws up in surprise, then Bern says if Lambda can't take that they won't stay together for long, which gets Lambda suddenly willing to gobble it all down.
