Marisa is not particularly fond of the village. She’d defend the villagers of course, but there’s just something about the place. It’s probably just the old memories. It doesn’t really matter either way, she’s here for a reason.

Nothing particularly stands out about Hana’s home. In terms of design the building perfectly fits its neighbors, and yet not a soul dares walk near it. It’s not surprising that villagers fear the unknown. That’s what keeps them hiding away in the village, desperately praying to the Gods to protect them from the Youkai. It’s a system they were born into and likely never questioned once in their lives, so when faced with said system not working they’ll cower away from it. No matter, such things aren’t worth thinking about when there are more important things such as Hana’s birthday.

Flying down, Marisa begins to knock on the door. There’s no immediate response, perhaps Hana is out? She’s likely very busy so it wouldn’t be surprising if-oh wait the door is open. Snapping back to attention, Marisa is greeted by an expressionless Aunn staring back at her. Is she angry about something?

As Marisa runs through the rather short list of what Aunn could be offended over she asks, “Ahh hey, can I uhh come in da ze?”

Aunn gives no sign that she even heard Marisa’s question, she just continues to stare blankly into Marisa’s eyes. Eventually, she tilts her head down and then up in a jerky motion before moving deeper into the house.

There’s a familiar level of mess in the home. It’s nowhere near the point where it’d become an issue, but’s clearly a home occupied by 2 or 3 girls. As Marisa takes a seat in the living room, Aunn elects to stand in front of her looking down without a word.

It’s quite uncomfortable. Had Aunn looked angry that would have been one thing, but her expression is rigid and entirely unfeeling. Even when she blinks it seems like a conscious effort rather than a subconscious movement.

Swallowing whatever apprehension the dog gave her Marisa says, “So I was planning on throwing Hana a birthday party. To make up for the one she missed while she was… y’know. I can’t give an exact date yet, but I was thinking of having it in a week or two. I was hoping for it to be a surprise party, so I’ll need your help. Are you in?”

Again Aunn’s expression does not change as she tilts her head up and down.

Wishing that the other Aunn was here Marisa replies, “Great! Alice is in on it and likely where are going to host the party. Mima gave her blessing. Yuuka was really into the idea but ran off to do something soon after I told her. I’ll keep you updated. By the way, where is Hana?”

Aunn is silent for a few moments before stating, “Eientei.”

Eientei? Is she sick? Was she captured? Did something happen while she wasn’t around? What if Hana doesn’t get better? How could she face Anon if… if…

Marisa begins to fidget as she asks, “Hana, is she okay? What happened? You should have said something sooner, if I had known I'd have come down-”

Aunn remains inexpressive as she cuts Marisa off with a brusque, “Hana fine.”

Slumping back into the chair Marisa allowed her worries to disappear. She’s fine, of course she is. Getting up Marisa says, “That’s good… I should get going. I got lots to do, see you soon da ze!”

As Marisa turns to go, she catches a glimpse of Aunn giving a rigid wave as her tail wags, “Soon.”
