I have hope when I see small things like pic attached.

Although the Japanese "internet" is not a case of regression but of usage-- the ubiquity of cellphones and general lack of PCs means that text is abundant and "new-age buzzword" dev as we know it is rarer, so I doubt it's always the case. Then there's stuff like mobile game development and you only need to look at Pazudora / Granblue / FGO to know that that's something some people will want.

I've been fine with mine and I've had it for more than 2 years, and I've put it through hell with my country's temperature and moving around, etc... i7-3630QM @2.40 and a GTX 660M. It's not a stock market laptop though, it was pseudo-custom.

I'll give that trial a spin and see.

I've said it before but the most informed VN programmer I've seen was Tenco's. Eiyuu*Senki ran even on my really old Sempron with some integrated gfx at 60fps. He actually used compression libraries, too!
