The correct term you're looking for is "is lying". We use 'lay' when a subject is interacting with an object, while we use 'lie' when the subject is interacting with something himself. Therefore:
"Sakuya (subject) laid me (object) down" would be correct, but not Sakuya "lied me down". In this case
"Sakuya lied down on the sofa" would be correct, but not "laid down". However, "We (subject) laid Sakuya (object) down on the sofa" would be correct.
